(Prior Month - $1,161,300)


This represents a 1.9% increase compared to January 2024

and a 4.5% increase over February 2023.

BC Speculation & Vacancy Tax

March 31st is the deadline to claim your exemption for BCā€™s Speculation and Vacancy Tax. The Government should have sent a letter with a declaration code & letter ID back in January. And if youā€™re like me - you promptly forgot about it until now.


So grab that letter, get your SIN number and head over to: gov.bc.ca/spectax OR call: 1-833-554-2323 to get that done before the end of the month.


Lastly - this is NOT the same tax as the City of Vancouverā€™s empty homes tax (that was due in Feb 2nd) OR the Government of Canadaā€™s underused housing tax (that has a due date of April 30th)ā€¦
