The original plan was an AirBNB – and finding one proved to be a challenge. In hindsight, given the recent changes to short term rental legislation in the province, what seemed like a failure proved to be a blessing in disguise.

So we pivoted to shopping pre-sales, and looked at Brentwood, Mount Pleasant, UBC. All of which are hot beds for new development opportunities. But a new up and coming area is around Trout Lake – specifically up Nanaimo Street – where a few developers have started to assemble detached homes and build for density.

The Cut – stood out from the rest. The architecture is both modern and timeless. The specific location in the area is ideal: close to trout lake, the central valley greenway and the Renfrew Skytrain station. The level of density within the development is moderate too.

Can’t wait till 2025 to see the finished product in person.
