The french version of this graphic novel was called: “ENVIRONNEMENT TOXIQUE” - that gives a much better idea of what the books about.

What starts as a simple premise to pay off student loans turns into a raw and unflinching account of what life in the oil sands was like for the author. She tackles a varying degree of topics: environmentalism, gender politics, class struggles and the minutia of the micro-cultural diasporas of Canada.

I tore through it in two days - highly recommend.
