Got to meet Bryan Baeumler at a private event put on by RBC at the Vancouver Home and Garden Show.

It was a very entertaining talk where he touched on the importance of net zero homes, buying a home that’s the right size and quality to meet your needs, and the back story of how he got on HGTV.

Haven’t heard the term Net Zero Home before? Let me walk you through it:
Net Zero Homes produce as much clean energy as they consume. They are up to 80% more energy efficient than typical new homes and use renewable energy systems to produce the remaining energy they need. Every part of the house works together to provide consistent temperatures throughout, prevent drafts, and filter indoor air to reduce dust and allergens. The result: exceptional energy performance and the ultimate in comfort – a home at the forefront of sustainability. It all adds up to a better living experience.
Put simply a Net Zero Home is: better for the environment, offers an extremely low utility bill, and is built to a higher standard than a conventional home. Sounds great! Sign me up!
If you want to learn more about Net Zero Homes and find a qualified builder visit the Canadian Home Builders Association website. Or if you’d like to tour a home that is built to a Net Zero standard give me a call I’d be happy to show one off to you.
Thanks for your time – I appreciate it!
